Originally laid out by the Dutch East India Company in the 1650s, today the Company’s Garden is a peaceful haven of giant trees, curious squirrels, and public history. It’s also home to the South African Museum and the National Library, where fossils, rock art, and rare manuscripts narrate Southern Africa’s deep past.
